Located on the banks of the Jiangshan River in Jiangshan City, Quzhou, this center was completed in 2023. With a building area of approximately 23,000 square meters, it, along with a 4,000-seat Class A gymnasium, supporting sports facilities, and several outdoor sports fields, forms the Hushan Sports Park. The center boasts a variety of facilities, including a short-course swimming pool, weightlifting training center, badminton courts, a fitness center, a table tennis hall, an indoor climbing wall, and a national physical fitness monitoring center. To address the different needs and characteristics of each facility, a spatial stacking strategy was adopted. Utilizing a multi-layered truss and prestressed beam structural system, the short-course swimming pool, fencing hall, and fitness center are vertically stacked on the south side of the center, while the weightlifting training center and badminton hall are independently stacked on the north side. The table tennis hall and climbing wall are naturally connected in the central part of the center, forming a multifunctional space that can be combined or separated.
The exterior of the swimming pool features a metal fish-scale panel system, creating a scale-like light and shadow effect that changes with the curvature of the facade and the direction of sunlight, enhancing the "flow of water." The entire roof structure of the indoor pool area is exposed, with a truss spanning 48 meters, emphasizing the explicit expression of structural logic and reinforcing the spatial scale and sense of power of the sports venue. The venue houses two pools: a competition pool and a training pool. The competition pool is 50 meters long and 25 meters wide, with 8 lanes; the training pool is 50 meters long and 17 meters wide, with 6 lanes. Both pools are 2 meters deep.
