As one of China's newest research-oriented universities, Shenzhen University of Advanced Technology (SUAT) has become a landmark educational institution in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Established jointly by the Shenzhen Municipal Government and the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2018 and officially approved in 2024, the university is located in Guangming Science City, Shenzhen.

Covering approximately 810 acres with a planned expansion area of nearly 1,200 acres, the campus features a unique architectural layout inspired by the Big Dipper constellation. Surrounded by mountains and reservoirs, the university offers a modern ecological environment with a central lake, a 1.4 km photovoltaic-covered corridor, and a 2.5 km mountain trail.

To provide a premium aquatic sports experience, SUAT has developed a dual-swimming-pool system, including a 50-meter indoor constant-temperature swimming pool and a 70-meter outdoor infinity swimming pool. The total sports facility area exceeds 20,000 square meters, making it one of the most advanced university sports centers in the region.
